Rebekah taking off from a tree... This tree is a pretty popular hangout for Isaac and Rebekah. It's just beside the tree where their nest is. It also has a pretty good place for them to sit and have a good view of the river bottom, as it's a little closer to the water than the tree where their nest is. If memory serves, Rebekah took off from this tree to dive on a fish, but she missed that time. We are working on getting a picture of that, but as you can imagine, you have to be in the right place at the right time. It's pretty surprising, though, that neither of these eagles seem all that scared of people. Shore lunches from fishing trips happen pretty regularly, and many take place fairly close to the tree where their nest is. One day I actually heard one of them fussing at the people below, but then just ignored them.

Here is another picture of mother and (we think) daughter just cruising around. It's really interesting to me how they seem to match each other's movements as they fly. They just seemed to be having a good time, and were kind enough, again, to pose for the camera.
Steven S. Raines, (c) 2002 Isaac - letting Rebekah know who wears the pants in the family... These two are funny! Just like my husband and I... Sometimes they are just as affectionate as can be, and other times - like you can see here - they sometimes "squawk" at each other! :-)
