Dock Service -- Boat / Motor & Canoe Rentals
His Place has its own new boat dock on the White River. Jon boat & motor rentals are available. Designed to negotiate the rocky flats and shoals in the river, Jon boats are a long, skinny, and flat-bottomed. To ensure availability just let us know you'd like to rent a boat and motor at the time you make your reservation. You may also rent one upon arrival, subject to availability. All boats have padded seats, anchors, paddles, life vests and dip net. 

Canoeing & Kayaking are fun, affordable ways to enjoy the beautiful rivers of the Ozarks!  If you want to canoe the White, we can offer you a 4-1/2, 8, or 14 mile trip starting up river and ending by the resort.  We also have fishing kayaks available.  We can also make arrangements for you to float on the Buffalo River.  Canoes, equipment and shuttle service are provided.

Wildlife Watching - In addition to some of the best trout fishing in the world, there are several other nature-based activities to choose from. The area offers many opportunities to view wildflowers, birds, animals, and Ozark scenery in several public forest reserves, or on the river itself. A pair of bald eagles winter and nest right across the river and are easily observed from our private wildlife observation deck.

Nature Walk - Bordering our property is a 2.5 mile nature trail on what used to be a railroad line.  It's easy walking, and takes you through both scenic fields and woods. It's a wonderful way to relax and see wildflowers, birds, animals and more of the area's beautiful Ozark scenery.  The trail ends in Cotter's Big Spring Park, a favorite for adults and kids alike.  There is a wonderful swimming hole at the beginning of a natural creek there that has been in use for many years.  The kids especially enjoy the rope swing!  (Much cooler than your normal swimming pool!) The kids will also enjoy the caves at the beginning of the nature walk, and playing in the spring creek that runs through the property and into the river. 

Guided Nature and Wildlife Observation Float Trips / Photo Shoots - For those who may not want to fish, an excellent way to enjoy the area is to take one of our Guided Nature & Wildlife Observation Trips!  Relax and enjoy the wildlife, scenic forests and lofty bluffs, and learn more about the beautiful Ozark Mountain Region, while our courteous, professional guides take you down the river.  This is an excellent opportunity to get some incredible photos!  We can help you with your photography needs as well, including 1 day turn around on digital processing during the week.

Covered Pavilion - After an active day sit back and relax under our covered pavilion.  It makes an excellent place for evening card games and group meetings.

Mountain Bike Rentals - We also have mountain bike rentals, for another way to see the nature trail and immediate resort property area. The Pigeon Creek National Recreation Trail System on nearby Lake Norfork offers 20 miles of well-groomed mountain biking and hiking trails. Comprised of 8 stacked loop trails, this system allows you to park your car and hike up to 18 miles without having to re-trace more than a few hundred yards of your path.

Cave Trips - Bull Shoals Caverns is a wonderful choice, and is close by.  Blanchard Springs Caverns, Mystic Caverns, and Hurricane River Cave are all wonderful places to go as well.  They are a little further away, but well worth the trip.  We’ll be happy to provide you with brochures and directions.  (There are also a couple of much smaller caves at the beginning of the nature trail here at the resort.)

Horseback Riding - His Place Resort is near some wonderful places to go horseback riding.  One is Double S Oaks Ranch, which is closest to the resort about 10 miles away in Midway.  Norfork Trail Rides is also great and has 1/2 day & full day trail rides.  Another place is the OK Trading Post, down by Sylamore.  It’s further away, but our guests who have ridden there have all raved about it.  They offer shorter rides at about 2-1/2 hours.  They all  have great horses & guides, and different trails available according to your riding experience and desires.  We will be happy to help you with those arrangements as well.

Houseboat Rentals, Pontoon Boat Rentals, Skiing, & Tubing - are all available on the nearby lakes.  We work with several different marinas and can make the arrangements for you.  Scuba diving is available too, with equipment rental, evening group dives from a pontoon, and a wide variety of places to dive.  Just let us know and we can make the arrangements for you.

Scenic Drives - His Place Resort is right in the heart of the Ozarks, an excellent starting point for some beautiful Scenic Drives.  We would be happy to help you pick out a route (or several) that you’ll be sure to enjoy during your stay with us.  

Choose from the Ozark Highlands Tour, Bull Shoals Lake Tour, Ozark Isle Tour, Ozark Adventure Tour, Buffalo National River Tour, Peel Ferry tour, Little Buffalo River Valley Tour, and the Farms & Villages Tour.

Dining and Entertainment - When relaxing and enjoying nature is not enough, the tourist town of Mountain Home is less than 10 miles away, with shopping, wonderful antique malls, good restaurants and a beautiful new 18-hole golf course.   (If you feel the need for an even bigger “night on the town”, there’s always Branson, MO, with a wealth of fine dining and entertainment alternatives.)

Attractions - The Ozark Folk Center, Top O' The Ozarks Tower, Norfork National Fish Hatchery, Ranger Boats, Bull Shoals Dam, Bull Shoals Theater, Bull Shoals Caverns, three 18 hole golf courses, restaurants offering several cuisines from casual to fine dining atmospheres, gift and antique shops, 32 live music theaters in Branson MO., canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, water skiing, Bass Pro Shop and Headquarters and Wonderful World of Wildlife in Springfield, MO., and scuba diving are some of the activities within two hours or less of His Place.
