Taking a guided trip really is the best way to get the most out of your fishing!  Whether you’re fly or spin fishing, a seasoned pro, novice – or just new to the area – your guides will provide you with as much (or as little) instruction and helpful advice as you want, for all river conditions - or just put you on the fish!  

Our guides are licensed, insured professionals which will give you peace of mind in addition to giving you a great time on the river!  On most of our full day trips, we also provide shuttle service so you can see more of the river, too.  And we guarantee you'll catch fish!

Our Spin Fishing Guides have many years of combined experience, and they know what those trout are hittin’ on and where to find them…  You’ll fish from the comfort and safety of a wide river jon boat with padded seats.  Family, kids, or just the guys goin’ after some big ones – we cater to your desires…  Some folks prefer artificials, and we can do that, too. 

Our guides are interested in providing you the best quality fishing experience possible, and will do everything they can to make that happen.  You’ll have so much fun you’ll wonder how the day went by so fast…

If you prefer to fish on your own, we have information on what’s biting!  And for wade fishing, we have one of the best wade access spots on the river when dam generation is low. 

Want to Fly Fish & Spin Cast in one trip on the same day?  Just let us know, and we will match you with a guide skilled in both techniques.

Choose from Full Day or Half Day trips.  Prices include guide, boat / motor, sodas & water.  Lunch is included on full day trips.  Bait and some flies (within reason :-) are included, as well as life vests.  Rods (spin or fly) included if you need them, just let us know ahead of time.  Fishing licenses, waders and boots are not included.

Want to fish for just a couple of hours?

The Guided Wade Fishing trips are approx 2 to 2-1/2 hours, water permitting, and often take place right here at the resort, and can be either a fly or spin cast activity.  Presentation, fly / lure selection, reading the water, etc., are all covered.  

The Evening Special is either a fly or spin cast activity, approx 2-1/2 hours, and is Catch & Release ONLY, please.  Here you’ll get in the boat and go for some fish as they feed toward evening – an often overlooked, great time to fish!

Our reputation is on the line with each fishing activity, therefore be assured that your guides are the best on the river - they know how to catch fish in all water conditions! They are all experienced, courteous, licensed professionals with excellent track records for safety, fun, and giving you the absolute best fishing experience possible.

What should I bring on a guided fishing trip?  Of course, you will need to dress for the weather.  Bring your hat, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, coat or jacket (for mild weather), gloves, raingear (just in case), waders & boots (if you want to wade, water permitting) 

Our Fly & Tackle Shop is fully stocked with all the necessities and a good selection of flies.  For the spin caster, we have a full selection of lures, line, and bait.  Spinning Rods and Fly Rods are available for rental as well.

Dock Service & Boat Rentals
His Place has its own new boat dock on the White River. Jon boat & motor rentals are available. Designed to negotiate the rocky flats and shoals in the river, Jon boats are a long, skinny, and flat-bottomed. To ensure availability just let us know you'd like to rent a boat and motor at the time you make your reservation. You may also rent one upon arrival, subject to availability. All boats have padded seats, anchors, paddles, life vests and dip net. (It is not necessary to rent a boat if you have reserved a guide, as they provide their own boats.)

**NEW** Canoe & Fishing Kayak Rentals (on the White River)

Canoeing is a fun, affordable way to enjoy the beautiful rivers of the Ozarks!  

If you want to canoe the White, we can offer you a 5, 10, or 15 mile trip starting up river and ending by the resort.  Canoes, paddles, safety equipment and shuttle service are provided.  We also have fishing kayaks available, with built-in rod holders and internal storage.

If you want to rent local, or provide your own shuttles, we can do that too!  Just let us know what you have in mind when you call.

About The White River
His Place is located on the world-famous White River, which is known for some of the finest tail water trout fishing you will find anywhere. Each year the river produces brown trout in the 10-20 lb class, as well as thousands of rainbows and cutthroat in the 1-3 pound range. It has produced many line class record brown, rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout.

Almost everyone that comes to the White River will catch some trout! The classic Guided Fishing Trip is the best way to do this and a great way to introduce or reintroduce the better half, friends, parents or youngsters to the joys of fishing, family time and relaxation.

While you fish, you will also enjoy scenic Ozark countryside, wildflowers, wildlife, and karst geology formations like the huge bluff in the photo to the left.

The White River is continually stocked by the AGFC.  There are also quite a few native trout off the banks of the river here.  

The sister branch of the White River, the North Fork River, also offers excellent trout fishing.  The North Fork is a short drive from His Place and all of our guides are familiar with it. 

Lake Fishing
Many of our fishing guests enjoy fishing both rivers and lakes. Bull Shoals Lake and Lake Norfork both offer good fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, Kentucky bass, walleye, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and striped bass. Access to both lakes are about a 20 minute drive from His Place. Our guides provide guided trips on these lakes as well as the rivers. Some of our guests combine lake recreation like water skiing, swimming, and pleasure cruising by renting a boat at one of the marinas on the lake. They fish in the morning and evenings. During the day they water ski and swim. We will be glad to help you plan your day on the lake as well as the rivers!
